Each client is formally assessed employing age-appropriate Assessment Tools.  The society has developed a Treatment Protocol (Klawe) based on the DSM projected Disorders of Extreme Stress (NOS) diagnoses (Credit Dr. Bessel van der Kolk et al.). The protocol is also built upon an Old Testament anthropological model.

 

The Morrison Ranch provides a unique venue in which clients benefit from the emotional connection with our Appaloosa. The relationship between horse and human, in a safe environment inspires the development of respect, empowerment, healthy boundaries, responsibility and self-confidence. Both members of the unit share the ‘fight or flight’ behavioural response.

 

Equine-assisted therapy is miraculous in penetrating the unspoken dimension of trauma.
